Who is…
Alexi Vandenberg
Entrepreneur • Strategic Marketer • Civic Leader • Political Communications Architect
Alexi Vandenberg is a multidisciplinary strategist whose career spans publishing, nonprofit development, political communications, and fandom-based marketing. Known for his ability to craft compelling narratives that bridge creative and civic arenas, Vandenberg has played a pivotal role in designing audience engagement strategies that resonate across industries.
He is the founder and former CEO of Bard’s Tower, a mobile literary brand that brought bestselling authors to major conventions and public venues nationwide. Through Prince of Cats Literary Productions and Rabid Fanboy Marketing, Vandenberg has built innovative marketing campaigns for authors, publishers, and entertainment brands, combining theatrical presence with data-driven execution.
In the civic and political sphere, Vandenberg has served as Executive Director of the Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation and Director of Development at El Puente de Williamsburg, where he led strategic fundraising, government relations, and coalition-building in service of urban youth, community health, and equity-based programming. His work helped shape grant strategies, stakeholder messaging, and local political partnerships in New York’s most dynamic boroughs.
Vandenberg’s political acumen was further sharpened through his collaboration with strategist Fred Hess, with whom he developed integrated political maneuver strategies rooted in narrative control, grassroots mobilization, and adaptive campaign architecture. Together, they emphasized the importance of maneuver-based tactics in modern campaigns—leveraging speed, asymmetry, and cultural relevance to outflank better-funded or entrenched opponents.
Currently serving in a government affairs marketing role in the health diagnostics sector, Vandenberg continues to advise on campaign communications, public policy engagement, and message engineering. His academic background includes a B.A. in Government and Politics from Widener University.
A frequent panelist, podcast guest, and speaker, Vandenberg is widely known as “The Merchant Prince of Fandom,” yet his influence reaches far beyond convention halls. Whether guiding national messaging strategies or helping authors find their voice, his work reflects a consistent mission: to shape narratives that win hearts, move minds, and change outcomes.
